1972 Jaguar E-Type V12 FHC

1972 Jaguar E-Type V12 FHC - Classic Cars

Matching numbers, very solid body!

Ten years after the presentation of the Series 1 E-Type Jaguar introduced the third series of its sports car icon. The new, phenomenal V12 supplied plenty power paired with unexpected smoothness. Together with a longer wheelbase the new E-Type was fantastic fast touring car, with only 7.297 examples built until February 1975.

This E-Type was produced for the US market in March 1972, therefore it still has the nicer pre-safety-era bumpers. It was optioned with air conditioning, automatic transmission, tinted glass and wire wheels, even the Motorola radio seems to be the original one. Apparently the car was repainted white some 20 years ago, used for a short while and then put into storage. This explains the well preserved condition of the body, which shows despite some minor dings hardly any rust and remarkably good gaps. The E-Type seems complete and not messed around with, even the number on the odometer might show the original mileage. It is running well, not quite ready for the street, though, but thanks to a more than solid body this is a great starting point for a restoration!
