1941 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible Coupe

1941 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible Coupe - Classic Cars

Impressive art deco convertible!
20 years ownership with the consigner!

1941 was a year of changes in the Cadillac house. The La Salle mark was discontinued and in its place came the new 62 Series. The production of the large 16-cylinder also came to an end and the first time all models of the brand were powered by the same motor – a 346-cubic inch large, V8 engine with 150 hp. The streamlined form introduced in 1940 received its first redesign with a new radiator grille, headlamps were now integrated into the fenders, and the HydraMatic automatic gearbox became available as an option for the first time. The crowning feature of this year’s model was the glamorous convertible top which was only permitted to be mounted by a long-serving staff! The end result was the most successful year in the history of the brand, despite the fact that only months later all vehicle manufacturers had to convert their facilities to produce armaments.

This Cadillac Convertible Coupe, as the convertible officially was called, arrived in the hands of a collector in Wels, Austria in early 1989. In 1996, the consigner acquired this Cadillac and radically restored the car, including giving it a new soft top. Since then, he has enjoyed the wonderful convertible on numerous trips and events and created awe and amazement wherever it went. Even though the Cadillac is now 75, it is still in good condition and because his driver shares the same age, a new owner is warmly welcome to enjoy this more than impressive luxury convertible!
