The book mentions a further study of the same topic (“Märtyrer vor dem Marterpfahl, dem ein Engel erscheint” (A martyr at the stake with the apparition of an angel) 1835, pencil on paper, 14,5 x 8,4 cm), which could also be related to the present study (see: Grabner 2011, Cat.raisonné WV -No. 197, p. 234).
