(France 19th century) Portrait of the Capucin Père Emmanuel, after Maurice-Quentin de la Tour (1757), pastel on paper, 40 x 31 cm, an old label with the inscription ”Le Père Emmanuel confesseur du fratelliste de Latour ci pastel figura au salon du 1757/ St. Quentin le 1er juillet 1916, Raphael Bouquet. 43, Boulevard Gambetta.” on the reverse and with the collector’s mark “Musées Ville de Saint-Quentin”, framed, (Sch)

According to the label on the reverse, dated July 1st,1916, and according to a letter of the Musée A. Lécuyer, Ville de St-Quentin, of February 8,1966 the present work is a pastel after Maurice-Quentin de la Tour, which was exhibited in the Salon des Musée Lécuyer in 1757.
