Vanitas, allegory of the emphemeral nature of youth and beauty,
oil on panel, 38 x 50 cm, framed

The present painting was considered by Ferdinando Arisi to be a work  by Bartolomeo Passarotti. However, it is more probable, given the fact that the panel employed in made of oak heartwood, that the picture was executed by an artist in the circle around Hans von Aachen at the court of Rudolfs II in Prague.

This painting was auctioned in 2010 at Piasa in Paris as the work of Anthonie van Blocklandt.
Before that it was considered by Ferdinando Arisi to be a work by Bartolomeo Passarotti. However, it is more probable, given the fact that the panel employ
