Friedrich L’Allemand achieved recognition chiefly as a battle painter, even executing works for the Austrian imperial court. This German artist received his training at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna where he first dedicated himself primarily to genre painting. His depictions of historical battle scenes demonstrate his military understanding of these events.
