Karl Fedorovic Gun depicts “with French elegance” (in the words of the Russian critic Vladimir Stasov) the central moment of the celebrations from the steps of the Senate building. The German photographer Albert Felisch (1837-1908) took his photographs from the roof of the same building.

С «французской элегантностью» (В. В. Стасов) Гун запечатлел со ступеней здания Сената центральное событие празднования 200-летия со дня рождения Петра I. С крыши того же здания торжественный молебен задокументировал работавший в Петербурге немецкий фотограф Альберт Фелиш.
