1983 Autobianchi Abarth A112 70 HP

1983 Autobianchi Abarth A112 70 HP - Classic Cars

Unrestored Abarth 70 HP in an exceptional condition

Autobianchi presented the A112 in October 1969. It was a new small car with the hyper-modern design that was built to appeal to the jetset society. Several successful models were produced until 1986, which were marketed most recently in various regions as Lancias. The first Abarth version, the 58 HP, was launched in 1971, and the make reached the apex of its appeal in 1971 with the 70 HP, which attracted a cult following.

This Styrian Fiat Autobianchi A112 Abarth is a late sixth series model. The diminutive powerhouse was delivered to lower Austria in October 1983, remaining with its first owner and his family until 1996. Afterwards the little speedster was deregistered for 10 years, ensuring among other things that it was spared the fate and the excessive tuning that many of its siblings experienced under their third or fourth owners. Not even door loudspeakers were installed. Only compomotive rims were added to the wheels to give the vehicle added stability on the roads. Its second life as a collectors’ item began in 2006. So today its body remains virginal, untampered with and unspoiled. The sensitive interior has also been left alone so far. It remains an Autobianchi that has survived 30 years without any surgery on its engineering, look or metalwork – which would have been unnecessary anyway! And the 70 hp just add to its already significant attraction.
