Private property, Austria.
The composition’s structure of the present drawing „Vision of Saint Francis“ recalls works by Andrea Celesti (1637–1712) such as “The Holy Virgin with the Christ Child and Saint John appears to Saints Jerome and Anthony” in the Chiesa dell’Ospedaletto in Venice. Stylistically, however, the drawing may date from the second half of the 18th century and could have been executed as a ricordo after a painting by Celesti.
