The present drawing with the ancient arches of the Clivus Scauri in Rome goes back to ma study by Tobias Verhaecht, which the artist may habve executed shortly after his return from Italy to Antwerp in 1590. The drawing is almost identical with the original by Verhaecht and may have been made by a follower of Verhaecht from mid-17th century.
