MG introduced the"A" with its terrific lines in 1955. As in the past, MG built solid technology into a stable frame. The 1600 replaced the previously offered 1500 in 1959. It its latest stage of evolution in1961, the 1600 became known as the Mk. II; it radiated maturity and performance. The car was in turn replaced by the MG B in 1961.

Like most MG As, this Mk. II was originally shipped to the USA. The MG was brought to Germany in 2005 with 20,800 miles on the clock. The body and interior had been extensively revised and renewed in the USA. The life of this "A" since 2005 is well documented with invoices and inspection reports. These documents also show that the motor was renewed about 1,000 miles ago. This roadster stands out from the typical "A" models with its original iris blue; the painted spoked wheels and the rear rack are authentic and complete the charm of the car. The car was imported with valid German vehicle papers and has also been inspected for registration in Austria. It is ready for registration immediately. Definitely by next summer!
