1976 Lancia Beta Montecarlo

1976 Lancia Beta Montecarlo
 - Classic Cars

1st Series in 10 years in 3rd hands

The Monte Carlo was developed, designed and built by Pininfarina and originally conceived as the big brother of the successful Fiat X1/9. However, after the project became too exclusive, it was marketed as a Lancia Beta Montecarlo. The mid-engine car was introduced in 1975 and initially built until May 1978. From March 1980 to June 1981 came the second series. Only 7,595 cars were made, including the model known as the Scorpion in the US.

The Montecarlo was registered on October 8, 1976 in Frosinone, Italy and deregistered in 1986. From 2003, the Lancia was in the possession of its second owner, an elderly gentleman, an authorized officer at AGIP. In 2006, the consignor acquired the Monte Carlo because it was in all around top-notch condition. The sleek sports coupe already had its second varnish at that time, just like the original in light blue metallic. The delicate interiors do not betray its 40 years.

The car’s plastic components are just like the aluminum wheels in the original series 1 – classic and beautiful. The consignor had the required service and maintenance on the Monte Carlo professionally done. Looking back, this Lancia had a very pleasant life, was never subjected to young, careless hands and therefore makes a fresh and adventurous impression – a beautiful, compact sports car from a good home without being intrusive.
