1971 Alfa Romeo Montreal

1971 Alfa Romeo Montreal - CLASSIC CARS and Automobilia

On the occasion of the 1967 Montreal World Fair, Alfa Romeo presented the design study „Montreal“, designed by Marcello Gandini. Owing to the overwhelming response, the coupé was further developed using a throttled V8 engine from the racing car Tipo 33 and was eventually presented ready to go into production at Geneva in 1970. 3.925 units of this Italian thoroughbred were built between 1971 and 1977.

The present Montreal was the 155th such car built and was first registered on 1 May 1971. In recent years, the previous owner extensively restored the Alfa Romeo; paint and decorative elements are in correspondingly handsome condition, as are the original Campagnolo wheels. Carpeting and seat upholstery, as well as the dashboard are also in very good condition. An invoice shows that Spica injection unit and the injection nozzles have recently been reconditioned by specialists in Germany. Tires and various rubber seals have also been replaced. In March 2015, the Montreal passed its TÜV (MOT) inspection without a flaw and was registered as a vintage vehicle. A reliable Alfa with racing genes, the car also has visual appeal. Long overlooked, these extravagant children of the wild seventies are returning to the limelight, and have every reason to do so!
