1936 Lancia Augusta Cabriolet (no limit)

1936 Lancia Augusta Cabriolet (no limit) - Classic Cars

A body by Pinin Farina!

From 1933 onwards, Lancia produced an upmarket “compact” automobile in the form of the Augusta. In addition to four-door saloons, the company also offered two-door coupés and convertibles. The 1.2-litre engines were able to boast 35 HP, which certainly helped to move these vehicles which weighed a leisurely 800 kg. The British magazine "The Autocar" tested such a saloon at 67.16 mph, corresponding to about 107 kph. In the test report, dated April 20, 1934, the writers were full of praise for the easy handling of the Lancia.

The Lancia Augusta here is a two-door convertible. It can be seen from the old Dutch vehicle papers that the Lancia was already described as green in March 1957, and that it was only de-registered in 2008. As is clear to see, the Augusta now needs a pair of skilled hands. Although the engine runs and the car can be driven, some kind of overhaul will certainly be necessary. As one positive, the Lancia has been kept in a good state of completion, making the restoration much easier. Overall, this Augusta is a more than attractive project because it is an easy-on-the-eye convertible with a reputable family name with mechanics that were very advanced for its time.
