1969 Porsche 911 T 2.0 litres

1969 Porsche 911 T 2.0 litres - Classic Cars

Painstakingly restored coupé!
Matching numbers!

Porsche gave the 911 its first major evolution with the 1969 model. Called the B-Series, the wheelbase was extended by 57 mm, the fenders widened to accommodate broader tyres, and the wheel arches modified to match. Small measures, perhaps, but they significantly improved its handling. This was also the last outing for the trusty 2.0 litre engine from the original 911, available only in this year together with the longer wheelbase.

Perusing the list of features, it is evident that the original owner from America would have preferred to order an S. But because that was not on the cards, he at least went to town on the special features, ensuring that his T ended up looking like an S: 5-speed gearbox, light alloy rims, Koni suspension, BHKZ ignition, 911 S instruments and oil tank, rubber padding on the bumpers, leather steering wheel and much more. The colour he picked was blood orange: not exactly the most subtle, but certainly one of the most beautiful! This 911 came to Austria in 1991, and the consigner began its painstaking, complete restoration around five years ago. The car was stripped completely, its engine, gearbox and mechanical parts thoroughly overhauled, and the interior renewed. What’s more, the bodywork was refurbished and repainted in its original colour. In the end, this added up to 1,950 hours of work, documented by around 800 photos and a fat folder full of invoices. The vehicle has been driven 4,000 pleasurable kilometres since its completion at the end of 2015, successfully participating in a number of rallies and obtaining a FIVA Identity Card. So anyone looking for an early 911 that has been extensively restored is certain to get a few a couple of steps closer to their goal by acquiring this car. Numbers, colour, condition: it’s all perfect!
